TheQueen Anne Dining Table is a typical piece from the (originally Dutch inspired) furniture style named after Queen Anne of Britain. The style prevailed in the English Colonies starting in the 1720's, extending well into the Chippendale era which began in the mid 1750's. Key elements of the style, include cabriole legs, repeated use of the "cyma" curve, and a gracefulness of construction which stood in contrast to the blockier furniture of the preceding William and Mary style.
