Windsor Chairs represent a high point in the landscape of furniture design & construction. The original English Windsor Chair has traveled extensively throughout the centuries, first coming to America in about 1726. Since then, several stylistic and structural adaptations have evolved including Arrow-Back, Bow-Back, Comb-Back, Fan-Back, Paddle-Back, Sack-Back, Wheat-Back, and many other Windsor Chair varieties. The Arrow-Back Windsor chair is named after it's arrow-shaped back spindles, which originally evolved to provide improved comfort.

This Amish Heritage Arrow-Back Windsor Side Chair is a relatively small chair, typical of the Slat-Back Windsors produced by many East Coast craftsmen of the Nineteenth Century. By using 100% premium American hardwood components combined with modern glues and a range of quality finishes (see thumbnails above) it actually surpasses the beauty and durability of the original arrow-back chairs.

Characterized by a simple elegance, Colonial-style turnings, and excellent joinery. Comfortable back support is ensured by the use of 4 arrow-shaped back spindles running between the seat and top slat.
