The Colonial Rice Bed a reproduction of the style of beds made in the Colonial Days of the Carolinas and South, where rice was a staple crop. So important was it, that the most successful rice planters wanted to sleep with a reminder of the source of their immense wealth.
This heirloom quality Amish Heritage Colonial Rice Bed features finely detailed, carved posts with heads of rice. Above the carved portion is a delicately fluted vase, topped by a well-proportioned finial. The scroll and pediment headboard further adds to elegant appearance of this very fine bed. By using 100% premium American hardwood components combined with modern glues and a range of quality finishes (see thumbnails above) it actually surpasses the beauty and durability of the original premier Colonial rice beds.
