Mission Armoires have long been admired for their simple elegance and excellent durability. Circa 1880, a furniture style developed, around traditional hand joinery furniture construction methods, which endeavored to emphasize the natural beauty of the wood. Known as Arts and Crafts style, or alternately as Mission, it resembled the simple, pragmatic pieces typically produced by native Americans in the Spanish missions of the south-western USA. Its outstanding characteristics are mostly straight lines, right angles, rectangular shapes, and a relative absence of intricate ornamentation.
This Amish Heritage Mission Armoire follows a true masterpiece of Mission cabinet design and is typical of the large furniture pieces of the style. By using 100% premium American hardwood components combined with modern glues and a range of quality finishes (see thumbnails above) it actually surpasses the beauty and durability of the original Mission Armoire.

Characterized by straight lines, generous moldings, and well-proportioned doors and drawers that present an overall picture of harmony. The upper cabinet houses 2 adjustable shelves, but can alternatively be fitted with a hanging rod (making it a Mission 'Wardrobe').
