Amish Heritage Colonial Pediment Bed, Full (Double) Size - SKU#0101-F
The Colonial Pediment Bed was so named after it's ornate pedimented headboard. The decorative furniture pediment is a triangular element, originally derived from the low-pitched gables of Grecian architecture. The "broken arch" pediment is a signature characteristic of Queen Anne style furniture of the early eighteenth century, and this elegant motif was adapted for use in some of the more ornate and sophisticated Colonial style beds.
This heirloom quality Amish Heritage Colonial Pediment Bed features a scroll and broken-arch pediment headboard, and finely detailed baluster-turned posts, each topped by a well-proportioned finial. By using 100% premium American hardwood components combined with modern glues and a range of quality finishes (see thumbnails above) it actually surpasses the beauty and durability of the original premier Colonial pediment beds.
This particularly elegant bed is constructed using mortise-and-tenon joints as well as bed-bolts for ultimate strength, stability, and durability. Add a quality mattress and, sitting or reclining, your comfort is ensured in this elegant design that has remained popular for hundreds of years. It is available in twin, full, queen, king, or California king sizes.
