The original English Windsor Chair has traveled extensively throughout the centuries, first coming to America in about 1726. Since then, several stylistic and structural adaptations have evolved including Arrow-Back, Bow-Back, Comb-Back, Fan-Back, Paddle-Back, Sack-Back, Wheat-Back, and many other Windsor Chair varieties. The New England Windsor Chair style is named after it's point of origin, in the Connecticut Valley of New England.

This Amish Contemporary New England Windsor Side Chair is a modern adaptation of the original chair style. By using 100% premium American hardwood components combined with modern glues and a range of quality finishes (see thumbnails above) it actually surpasses the beauty and durability of the original New England Windsor chair.

Characterized by smooth tapered turnings, a comfortably dished seat, and legs that are driven deeply into the seat for maximum stability and durability. Comfortable back support is ensured by the use of 9 ergonomically tapered back-spindles.
