Amish Contemporary Canterbury Windsor Swivel Counter Stool - SKU#6052C
Canterbury Windsor Chairs & Stools appear delicate, light, and extremely graceful, but are cleverly designed to offer both comfortable and sturdy seating in your dining room. Windsor Chairs & Stools represent a high point in the landscape of furniture design & construction, originating in England and first coming to Colonial America in about 1726.
This Amish Contemporary Canterbury Windsor Swivel Counter Stool matches our Canterbury Windsor Dining Chair - a modern rendering of the original "Thumb-Back" or "Pierced Slat-Back" Windsor Chair, that was originally developed circa 1820. In comparison, this modern stool retains the essence of the original Thumb-Back chair design, but features unadorned turnings rather than the more intricate Bamboo-style turnings of it's Colonial forefather. Indeed, by using 100% premium American hardwood components combined with modern glues and a range of quality finishes (see thumbnails above) it actually surpasses the beauty and durability of the original Thumb-Back chairs.
Characterized by elegant modern turnings, a comfortable dished seat, and legs that are driven deeply into the seat for maximum stability and durability. Comfortable back support is ensured by the use of 2 posts and 6 ergonomically arched back spindles.
This Delicate-Looking Amish Contemporary Canterbury Windsor Swivel Stool Is An Ideal Study In Graceful Yet Sturdy Modern Furniture Design!
