Amish Heritage Colonial Duxbury Fan Back Windsor Side Chair - SKU#3660
Windsor Chairs represent a high point in the landscape of furniture design & construction. The original English Windsor Chair has traveled extensively throughout the centuries, first coming to America in about 1726. Since then, several stylistic and structural adaptations have evolved including Arrow-Back, Bow-Back, Comb-Back, Fan-Back, Paddle-Back, Sack-Back, Wheat-Back, and many other Windsor Chair varieties. The original Fan-Back Windsor chair was so named due to it's obviously fan-shaped back support.
This Amish Heritage Duxbury Fan-Back Windsor Side Chair reproduces many of the outstanding features of the Colonial-style fan-back Windsors produced between 1795 and 1805, with a touch of country charm. By using 100% premium American hardwood components combined with modern glues and a range of quality finishes (see thumbnails above) it actually surpasses the beauty and durability of those original Windsor chairs.
Characterized by deeply carved turnings, a comfortable dished seat, and legs that are driven deeply into the seat for maximum stability and durability. Comfortable back support is ensured by the use of 7ergonomically tapered back spindles.
