Amish Heritage Colonial Daisy Country Lane Rocking Chair - SKU#3830-R

The Rocking Chair is believed to be an original American invention of the late 18th Century, and has evolved considerably throughout time, resulting in today's broad range of rockers and gliders. Each of the lasting innovations in rocking chair design was initially driven by the demands of increased comfort and/or improved style.

The Amish Heritage Country Lane Rocking Chair is our version of the famous "Grandfather's Rockers" which became popular during the early nineteenth century and have remained so ever since. The outstanding characteristics of this rocking chair style are ample size, (enough for a Grandpa and a couple grandchildren), a relatively high back, and very sturdy construction.

This premium quality hardwood Daisy-Back Country Lane Rocking Chair features a steam-embossed daisy motif on the back, and exceptionally smooth-rocking runners. It is characterized by deeply carved turnings, a comfortably dished seat, and legs that are driven deep into the seat for maximum stability and durability.

Comfortable back and arm support is ensured by the use of 5 vertical, ergonomically arched back splats and 3 arm spindles on each side. It is a true heirloom quality piece - using 100% premium American hardwood components combined with modern glues and finishes it actually surpasses the beauty and durability of the original rocking chairs it is modeled on.

Everyone Loves A Rocking Chair, This Heirloom Quality Solid Hardwood Amish Heritage Country Lane Rocking Chair Is Sure To Be The Most Popular Seat In Your Home!

Windsor chairs of the Colonial and Federal periods were built to last by caring men who thoroughly understood their tools, materials and craft. Today, our dedicated Mennonite & Amish furniture makers undergo a long apprenticeship to develop keen eyes and skilled hands, and these expert craftsmen enjoy building Your legacy quality seating with the same unhurried care - providing you with exceptional furniture and outstanding value.

Mennonite Furniture Studios Amish Heritage Country Lane Rocking Chair Features

Note with us a few of the outstanding features which make this Amish Heritage Country Lane Rocking Chair such a popular and enduring piece:

  • Classic Beauty In Your Home - with graceful curves, bold angles, and a deeply scalloped seat that justifies the name - "saddle". The legs and arm-posts, dating from the latter half of the eighteenth century, display a crispness and definitiveness in their outstanding baluster, cove, and ring turnings. This Amish Heritage Windsor Rocking Chair conveys a sense of history and a tangible connection to our past. It will fill a place of distinction in any room of your home. It simply looks right!
  • Supremely Comfortable - with generously dished seat. Their splats combine strength and springiness for unmatched comfort in an all-wooden chair. The generous arms provide support and a secure feeling. In short, you'll want to sit and rock a while!
  • Extreme Durability, With Very Low Maintenance - built with solid hardwood materials and superior mortise-and-tenon construction, designed to endure for generations. Although many lesser colonial chairs were originally made with soft pine seats (for ease of working), all of our chairs use solid oak, cherry, or maple seats for added beauty and durability. Leg and arm-post tenons are long, passing through the seat and arms, and secured in place by Hickory wedges.

Whether you choose a solid black finish or a semi-transparent stain finish (Order oak, cherry or maple hardwood samples to see our range of finish colors in Your home), this beautiful hardwood rocking chair has a smooth, durable varnish top-coat which brings out the natural beauty of the wood but resists water and most common household chemicals to minimize care and maintenance. Easy Wipe Clean - No Polish Needed!
